Memorial Day – Reflections – Starting in 1865 when the Civil War ended, people began remembering their fallen in solemnity, with pride and remorse. Over time our national holiday has morphed into a relaxed day of picnics and shopping, and it is the first official day of Summer in Boston. We offer reflections on this important day, a poem and a guest reflection. “Remembering” – a poem Featuring Upham’s Corner Main Street Zach Cohen, Executive Director since 2007, will be returning to school this summer and reflects on changes in the organization under his leadership.
