Memorial Day РReflections РStarting in 1865 when the Civil War ended, people began remembering their fallen in solemnity, with pride and remorse. Over time our national holiday has morphed into a relaxed day of picnics and shopping, and it is the first official day of Summer in Boston.  We offer reflections on this important day, a poem and a guest reflection.

The Greater Boston House Concerts held their first concert featuring violinist Shaw Pong Liu, very well received. The Visiting Nurses’ Association is celebrating its125th anniversary with a traveling exhibit and a reception at the Grove Hall Branch library.
